SSNs are issued by the IRS, not by Social Security Administration.
In prior lessons, I prove from government sources that the IRS is not an agency of the United States.
Attached below is a redacted (because I share it) copy of my application for a SSN.
NOTICE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FORM THAT the application form is an IRS form. Also notice that “Treasury Department” is not “U.S. Treasury”. There are 7 “Treasury Department”s authorized by law (for each U.S. territory) but this is not one of them.
When I was 16 and got a part time job after school, the employer lied to me, and told me to get a SSN. I went down to the Social Security Office and filled out this form. IT IS NOT A Social Security form, it is an IRS form. IT IS NOT A U.S. Government form. My Social Security Card (and the number on it) IS NOT FROM THE U.S. Government.
